Sparking Modernity | May 24th - Aug 25th 2017
Darc Space, TTT thirtythreetrees

Marconi Station at Derrygimlagh: TTT project with Denis Byrne Architects was the subject of this exhibition and book; Sparking Modernity, curated by Darc Space, (the Dublin Architecture Space). The format of the exhibition, presented in large double A0 boards, was largely based on the boards TTT designed for the AAI and RIAI Awards. James Shields also contributed an essay, A Reading of the Landscape - Beyond Marconi, Alcock and Brown, to the book; in which he describes TTT's process and creative input into the project. The book is available from the RIAI Bookshop.

Darc Space: "The story of Derrygimlagh is one of the most compelling, yet little known, stories of the 20th century. A blanket bog outside Clifden, at the very edge of Europe, was the setting for two world changing technological achievements. The exhibition will showcase Derrigimlagh's unique role in the evolution of communications technology and aviation and highlight the work of the design team in their creative interpretation of this historic site."
