July 26th, 2016, Minister of State for Tourism and Sport officially opened the Discovery Point at Derrigimlagh, one of the Wild Atlantic Way’s key ‘Signature Discovery Points’. The interpretative looped walk reveals the history of the Marconi Wireless Station, (the world’s first commercial transatlantic wireless station), and the landing site of the first non-stop transatlantic flight by Alcock and Brown.
